“Our service”: the 1-to1 tutoring that we provide to customers

“We”: referring to ‘we’ at Mission Medicine

“Client”: you the customer

Agreement:

By signing up for a free initial consultation and subsequently for paid tutoring with Mission Medicine, you are agreeing to be bound by our Terms & Conditions.

Mission Medicine reserves the right to update and change the Terms & Conditions of Service whenever required and will make reasonable effort to inform the customer if it does occur.

If any of the Terms & Conditions are violated Mission Medicine reserves the right to terminate your use of our service with immediate effect.

Data Protection and Privacy:

All personal data (as defined by the Data Protection Act 2018, the UK’s implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation) processed and utilized by Mission Medicine and the Tutor(s) involved in the provision or our service, warrant that they shall comply with the Data Protection Legislation and any relevant regulations included in the Act.

All personal data is kept secure, confidential and only used in the provision of our service to you. For further information, please see our Privacy Policy.

Additional Hours:

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that they do not engage in any tutoring that exceeds the hours that they have purchased. All Tutors will record the precise time that was spent on a call and the duration of said call. For example, should a 1 hour lesson last 1 hour and 15 minutes, the additional time will be invoiced to the client at a rate of £15 per additional 15 minutes over the hours. This will be invoiced within 14 days. If it is a one-off hour long tutor session then they will be invoiced the required amount within 14 days.

If at any point the client is nearing the limit of their hours which they have booked and paid for, they should message the Mission Medicine team through any of the official channels who will happily arrange the amount of hours the client requires. Alternatively, more hours are available through the tutor packages purchasable on the online calendar.

If a client should undertake more hours than they have booked, there will be a charge of £60 per hour pro rata and an additional one-off £15 fee for exceeding their limit. These will be invoiced to the client within 14 days. This additional amount for any extra time must be settled within 21 days of receiving the invoice.

Number of hours per week

We believe that 1-2 hours of tuition per week is the optimal number to achieve your goal of entering medical school. Therefore, we cap the amount of hours that can be booked by a client at 2 hours per week. If a client’s personal tutor agrees to provide more hours of tuition per week than this, this is at the tutor's discretion. The tutor is under no obligation to provide more than the maximum 2 hours per week of tuition. However, if you feel you require more hours than 2 per week, we will do our best to accommodate this.

Contacting your tutor

We provide the contact details of a client’s tutor in the form of an email address. The tutor will endeavour to respond to the client within 24 hours of the client’s message being received as we understand that issues will arise that require a rapid solution. However, sometimes this will not be possible. We ask our tutors to communicate with client’s when they will not be available, but sometimes unforeseen circumstances occur which make this impossible. If for any reason you cannot get in contact with your tutor within 24 hours, please contact admin@missionmedicine.co.uk

Refer a friend

When you have completed the Form titled ‘Get free tutoring’, accessible via the ‘how did we do?’ email received after every tutor session, you will receive a confirmation email and the referee will receive a discount code. Should the referee purchase a minimum of 5 hours of tuition via a tuition package, after 14 days you will receive an email with a code to book 1 hour of free tuition using your tutor's online calendar.

Cancellation Policy for Our Service:

There is a 24 hours cancellation policy. If a client should cancel a session fewer than 24 hours in advance they will be charged for the full duration of the session (at the relevant rate depending on the purchased tutor package) or have the session deducted from their remaining pre-purchased hours as appropriate, as the Tutor has scheduled time for you that could have been used by another client. This policy will also apply to any client who is more than 15 minutes late for a tutor session, as Tutors will have clients waiting after your session.

For any tutor session which is not cancelled within 24 hours of the date and time of commencement, it is the clients and Tutors responsibility to ensure that it is rearranged as soon as possible. If the client is having issues with re-arranging a tutor session then they should contact Mission Medicine immediately at admin@missionmedicine.co.uk

No Guarantee of success in your medical application:

Despite our best efforts to provide a high-quality service within the time constraints determined by the amount of hours purchased by the client, we cannot guarantee a place at medical school for any customer. This is due to the vast array of environmental factors that contribute to the outcome of each stage of the medicine application, including but not limited to the entrance exams and the interview.

Refund Policy:

Our guarantee of a refund if a customer is not completely satisfied is as follows: The request for a refund must be made no longer than 14 days after the first tutor session has taken place. If any other tutor sessions have taken place since the first, the offer of a refund is no longer valid and the below policy takes affect.

The hours purchased by you can be used at any point in the next calendar year by friends and family if you no longer require it. In order to transfer the hours, you must contact admin@missionmedicine.co.uk with your name, written confirmation of the transfer and the details (including name and contact information) of the friend or family member you wish to transfer the hours to.

If a client wants to voluntarily cancel their package of tutoring hours, we consider refunds on a case-by-case basis and the maximum refund they will receive is 30% of the remaining hours gained in the original purchase.

Illness and the pandemic

Whilst we will make every reasonable effort to keep our service running during the pandemic, there will inevitably be times where our service is disrupted. We apologise for this and will attempt to contact you should any difficulties arise in the provision of our services.

Limitation of Liability:

We at Mission Medicine will accept no responsibility or liability for any losses that result from your failure to comply with these terms.
